Common Questions/Answers for Poweramp v2.x:

Q. My songs are missing from folders/library.

A. Please ensure you have all your folders with music actually checked in Poweramp Settings => Music Folders.

Your original Android Library is not changed, nor any files deleted.

Poweramp library is a separate, completely independent library. When you installed Poweramp 2.0, it just got filled with the files scanned from your sd card/other flash memory, as specified in Music Folders.

Q. Freeze/too slow folders/library scan

A. You have (semi)broken SD card. Please check your SD card for errors on computer or try another SD card.

Q. Volume too low. Volume changes weirdly. Other volume issues.

A. Try to disable Direct Volume Control in PowerAMP Settings => Audio Engine => Advanced Tweaks.

Poweramp 2.x uses Direct Volume Control by default on 2.3+ mid-to-high end devices. On stock ROMs this produces much better audio output. But many custom/buggy ROMs, while supporting DVC, can fail with it.

Q. Poweramp 2.0 widget becomes white/doesn't work on phone reboot

A. This can happen if something blocks Poweramp from starting on reboot and updating the widget - task managers, auto-start tweaking. If you use such apps/tweaks, you may need to add Poweramp (or/and WidgetPack) to exceptions list.

Q. Can I get Poweramp v1.4 look?

Frequency: device is turned on DS mode at a selected frequency

Duration: device is woke up after for a selected duration after a each frequency cycle

Wileless & network: control radio setting during DS on

Sync: Control sync strategy and sync account, auto-sync

Apps: Select apps that will be stopped during DS on

CPU: Process twist - root only

Night period: During this period, device is always in DS mode

General settings

Screen off delay: a short delay before DS start. This option is used to avoid quick screen toggles

Whitelist: Apps are always ignored when DS on, such as online music player

Ingored recent apps: ignore recent apps

Use APN settings: twist 3G/4G/mobile data toggler

Check background data: If selected, it will ignore DS mode if traffic is above a defined threshold

Traffic threshold & traffic sampling frequency

Notice:

During deep sleep mode on, this app may disrupt your normal activities, such as your email notification comes with larger delay

If your setting (ex. Wifi) is off, DS Battery Saver does not control it during DS mode on

Overview: The most precise volume control app on the market!

Fine Volume Control 2.0 gives the ability to change volume in 1% increments and adds an optional replacement for the standard on-screen volume dialog which includes a dial to help adjust the volume when not in-app. It also allows access to lower volume levels.

If you can never find the perfect volume level or you want to go below 1 bar of volume, then this app is a must-have.

FAQ

Why does Fine volume control report a different volume level than other apps do?

Our app allows you to access a larger range of volume levels than the default Android system allows (and reports volume in respect to the wider range). It varies between devices, but the standard volume levels are not evenly distributed over the available range. E.g. 1/15 media volume may correspond to 30% of the actual possible volume range.

Do I need Root?

No.

Why is the app running in the background?

The service is used to display the overlay (when you press the volume keys), it uses very little memory and almost no CPU time. if you disable the overlay option the service will stop and you can continue just using the main app.

Why does the volume stop at 50%?

The media volume is limited to 50% by default when using a headset, this can be changed in the preferences.

2 users have reported a possible issue with the volume jumping to high levels when using the dial on the overlay.

If the dial does not respond when you turn it, wait a few seconds before rotating it any further.

Can the volume go any lower?

Yes! Under Advanced Preferences, select Volume Level and then select a lower setting.

Volume jumping/Incorrect profile values being loaded

Under advanced preferences, select "Volume accuracy fix". If this does not help, use the "Do not modify API volume" option.

Beware this has some side-effects: When you modify the volume using this app, other apps will be unaware of the change and will think the volume is at a different level. This may cause un-expected jumps if you use other volume control apps or the hardware buttons.

E.g. set media volume to 1/15 using another app, then set to 60% using fine volume control; the other app will still think the volume is at 1/15.
